Paramount House Hotel
- Art Direction
Paramount House Hotel’s objective was to create a hotel experience reflective of Sydney’s Surry Hills neighbourhood – effortless, unexpected and completely considered. We worked closely with Paramount House Hotel to build a brand and experience where every touchpoint resonated with this vision, from personalised leather luggage tags to the keycard sleeve hole punch signifying the guest’s room number.
The hotel’s architecture was influenced by the patina of the neighbourhood and the historical fabric of the original Paramount House, built in 1940. The most recognisable expression of this raw, graceful aging is the copper façade that wraps the exterior. In response, the brand expresses a sense of patina through carefully selected materials, including raw leather, Tyvek, and subtle copper detailing.
We delivered the Paramount House Hotel brand identity, stationery, website, keycards, signage, and consulted on the overall guest experience.
Paramount House Hotel launched in early 2018 to great acclaim. It significantly exceeded sales projections and was awarded Gourmet Traveller’s 2018 Australian Hotel of the Year.
